Environmental Inspector

We are looking for a sharp individual with an entrepreneurial mindset to perform evaluations of residential properties for real estate transactions.  Seeking a trustworthy professional to operate a Rigid fiber optic camera and earn your certification to perform water sampling and conduct septic inspections.  All certifications/licenses paid for by Home Land Septic Consulting.  Opportunities to earn your Pump Installers license also available.  Join local real estate professional chapters and attend networking events to enhance our footprint in the industry.  Experienced Environmental Inspectors will have the opportunity to teach CE classes available for real estate agents.  Must have superb communication skills and not be afraid to get your hands dirty while learning a new field. Daily work will include locating and accessing septic systems for visual inspections, collecting water quality samples from private wells, connecting hoses to pressure tanks to determine the yield among other duties. If the system does not have access digging may be required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds and enjoy working outdoors yearlong.  Strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy is required. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science is strongly preferred.  Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and will successfully pass a criminal background check. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

 

Customer Service Representative

This full time administrative position is perfect for someone with a marketing, business or communications background. Our ideal candidate is an ambitious problem solver, detail-oriented and thrives working in a team-oriented environment with a high level of customer interaction. Duties will include scheduling appointments, answering telephone and email inquiries from clients, in-house sales, attending networking events and other administrative duties. Superb communication, organizational and time management skills are also required.  Customer service experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

 

Lab Technician

This position will work closely to assist our Laboratory Director and Quality Assurance Officer with day to day operations including, but not limited to: collecting water samples, preparing and conducting analysis of samples and data entry.  Will also have the opportunity to attend training classes in areas of water chemistry, microbiology, quality assurance, laboratory safety and MDE/EPA protocol.  This individual will utilize good laboratory practices and maintain safe work practices.  Superb communication, organizational and time management skills are required.  Lab experience in environmental chemistry is strongly preferred as well as mass spectrophotometry, metals analysis and acid digestion. Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science is also required.

 

General Laborer

This light industrial position will provide assistance in the field to our Environmental Inspectors and report to our Field Manager. Daily work will include locating and accessing septic systems for visual inspections, collecting water quality samples from private wells, connecting hoses to pressure tanks to determine the yield among other duties. If the system does not have access digging may be required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds and enjoy working outdoors yearlong. Experience utilizing heavy equipment, towing and construction is preferred. Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Paid on-the-job training is provided.  Strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and basic computer skills preferred.  A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is also required, in addition to successfully passing a criminal background check.

 

Environmental inspector – Licensed Plumber

We are actively seeking a Licensed Master Plumber for immediate hire as a Environmental Inspector to perform inspections of residential properties for real estate transactions in Baltimore County, MD. We specialize in environmental testing with an emphasis on drinking and wastewater.

Our ideal candidate is an honest, hardworking seasoned professional with a desire to learn a new field. Work includes performing septic evaluations, well yield testing, water sampling, camera sewer inspections and radon in the air testing. We have a high demand for Baltimore County Regulated Well Yields which a Licensed Master Plumber can perform. Knowledge of well pump mechanics, pressure tanks, and water conditioning units is a plus to inspect and diagnose potential problems.

Operations Analyst

Well versed in and able to direct the organization’s operations to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability. This position will connect both companies under our parent company, Home Land Environmental and Home Land Environmental Health Labs to provide quality control and support. In charge of safety, the Operations Analyst will also ensure that our methods and standards are safe, effective, and efficient. The ideal candidate has experience in project management  and has a bachelor’s degree, specialty or professional license with an overall goal of ensuring maximum efficiency and profitability. As a visionary, this person will implement new strategies and procedures to streamline our service lines and processes. Consistent monitoring, tracking and the ability to identify and solve problems is key. The Operations Analyst will be able to effectively communicate the status of a project to all members of the company and act as a liaison between the field, office and lab. Coordination between all areas of the company is important as well as being able to assist customers and represent us at marketing events and tradeshows.
